Lakeside Country Club, Frimley Green, Surrey is one of the countries leading entertainment complexes and the undisputed home of World Darts.
The World Professional Darts Championships have been staged and promoted by the British Darts Organisation since 1978 and Lakeside Country Club (established in 1972) has been the host venue since 1986, and the main title sponsor since 2004.
2010 will celebrate their 25th anniversary year at Lakeside - where they will proudly continue their tradition for maintaining the history of World Darts at the highest participation levels.
In addition to players from the home countries of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, thousands of players representing over 60 member countries within the World Darts Federation will have the opportunity to compete to reach the BBC televised stages of the 2010 Championships.
These will be played for nine consecutive days in January 2010 when the Men's World Professional Darts Championship will celebrate 33 years of continuous coverage on BBC TV (1978 to 2010 inclusive) while the only stand alone Women's World Professional Darts Championship will be staged for the 10th consecutive year (2001 to 2010 inclusive).
Tickets for the BDO Lakeside World Professional Darts Championships usually go on sale around mid-year and are over-subscribed within a matter of weeks.
Those not lucky enough to see it live and experience the unique Lakeside atmosphere can join the millions of TV viewers in Britain, Europe and around the globed who will watch it via BBC TV Sport and its world partners.
